About the Service
The SCFT provides an alternative approach to recovery/support for forensic service users who have experienced long length of stays within secure care, who have complex clinical and risk issues, but who with the appropriate support could be supported in the community.
Inspire North has 1 Housing Worker embedded within SCFT to provide a dedicated, tailored housing support to service users with complex needs transitioning from secure hospital settings to supported housing and provide advice to the wider multi-disciplinary team.
This includes clients with long stays in secure hospitals, complex clinical conditions, substance misuse issues, cognitive deficits, and histories of high-harm offenses. The Housing Worker develops accommodation support plans, facilitates housing applications, liaises with local housing providers, and offers ongoing resettlement support to ensure successful community integration.
The worker engages with service users, often those hard to reach, and works closely with housing support services and local authorities to minimize homelessness and housing-related hospital admissions. Additionally, we provide education on housing processes and offer preventative support.
