About the service

Activity Hub is a voluntary programme where people on probation can learn new skills, take part in enjoyable activities and spend time with people who understand the journey they are on. Activities can help individuals to work with probation, find a job, improve their family relationships or health, build confidence and support their mental health.

The CFO Activity Hubs project is funded via Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service Co-financing Organisation (HMPPS CFO). HMPPS CFO is a European Social Fund resettlement support programme, which delivers projects aimed at improving employability, changing lives and reducing reoffending.

Aims of the service

The Leeds CFO Activity Hub represents a safe space where participants can (and, importantly, want to) engage in a range of activities - with lots of engaging social, creative and group activities readily available. The purpose of the Hub is to assist participants not to re-offend, alongside the key aim of the European Social Fund to move individuals closer to the labour market.

Participants can enjoy:

  • Taster sessions in sports, drama, music, media or arts and crafts
  • Creative workshops
  • Accredited training
  • Employment courses and preparation for work
  • Practical advice and support (around debt, health and many more)
  • Courses to help the individual to stay on track with the rehabilitative journey and achieve longer-term goals
  • Opportunities to get into volunteering.
