Safe-guarding children for managers

AIM: To increase participants awareness and understanding of what safeguarding children means, and how their role contributes to this within the wider organisation and legislative context.

At the end of the course participants will have

  • Identified indicators and impacts of different forms of abuse.
  • Increased knowledge of the key legislation around safeguarding children.
  • Increased knowledge of what is expected of them if a safeguarding concern is raised, including internal processes, referral routes, key principles and the role of themselves and others.
  • Have identified what to do around safeguarding children in relation to employees.
  • Thought about how to reflect lessons learnt and apply these principles within their teams.

This one day course is designed to equip managers with the knowledge and understanding they need to support staff around all aspects of safeguarding children. From pre-employment checks and identifying signs of abuse, to dealing with allegations against an employee and reviewing past referrals.

Training is 1 day (09.30-16.30) in-person, in Leeds and costs £99.
