At the end of this 4 hour course participants will be able to:
- Recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention
- Improved knowledge of cultural attitudes to mental health
- Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports
- Increased cultural humility and increased awareness of internal stereotypes
- Practice active listening and empathy
- Key principle of Trauma Informed practice
- Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma
- Increased knowledge and understanding around the impact of structural inequalities on mental health and how to address this in practice.
